Androgenetic Alopecia Study

Darlinghurst Sydney

Are you a male experiencing pattern hair loss?

You may be eligible to join a clinical research study evaluating an investigational treatment designed to target a hormone pathway involved in hair follicle activity.

Androgenic alopecia, commonly known as male or female pattern hair loss, is a progressive condition that can cause thinning hair and changes in hair density over time

Researchers are studying whether this investigational treatment may help support healthier hair growth cycles by targeting a biological pathway linked to hair follicle regulation.

Description

Androgenic alopecia, commonly known as male or female pattern hair loss, is the most common form of hair loss and affects millions of men and women worldwide.

It is a gradual condition that alters the normal hair growth cycle, leading to progressive thinning of the hair on the scalp. In men, this often appears as a receding hairline or thinning at the crown.

Although it does not impact physical health, it can significantly affect confidence, self-image, and emotional wellbeing, making it a deeply personal and often distressing condition.

Current treatments for Androgenic alopecia include topical solutions and oral medications designed to slow hair thinning or stimulate regrowth. While these therapies can be effective for some individuals, results vary, and ongoing use is usually required to maintain benefits.

This study is exploring a new approach that targets a biological pathway involved in hair follicle regulation and scalp health. The research aims to deepen understanding of how this investigational therapy affects hair growth and overall follicle activity, and how it may contribute to the development of improved treatments in the future.

This is an early-phase clinical research study. Participants are not expected to receive a direct medical benefit. However, the knowledge gained may help researchers advance future therapies and improve care options for people living with Androgenic alopecia worldwide.

What to expect

Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the investigational treatment or a placebo (an inactive substance). You will receive multiple subcutaneous (under-the-skin) injections at scheduled clinic visits throughout the study.

Throughout the study you will attend regular clinic visits for health assessments, which may include physical examinations, blood tests, and general health checks. These visits help the research team monitor your health and collect important study information.

Your safety and wellbeing will be closely monitored by our professional clinical team for the duration of the study.
