Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS) is a chronic, inflammatory skin condition that causes painful lumps, abscesses and tunnels under the skin. It typically occurs in areas such as the armpits, groin and under the breasts. These recurring lesions can lead to severe scarring and discomfort, significantly impacting an individuals daily life and mobility. Hidradenitis Suppurativa is unpredictable, with flare-ups making even simple tasks challenging.
Current treatments for Hidradenitis Suppurativa focus on reducing inflammation, managing symptoms, and preventing flare ups. Options include antibiotics, anti-inflammatory medications, biologic therapies, and, in severe cases, surgery to remove affected tissue.
