Description

Type 2 diabetes is a long-term condition where the body does not use or produce insulin properly, causing high blood sugar levels. It is one of the most common chronic conditions worldwide, affecting millions of people of all ages. Symptoms may include fatigue, excessive thirst, blurred vision, or slow-healing wounds. Many people living with type 2 diabetes also experience overweight or obesity, which makes the condition harder to manage and increases the risk of serious complications like heart disease, kidney disease, and stroke.

Managing type 2 diabetes often involves lifestyle changes such as healthy eating, exercise, and weight management, alongside medications that help control blood sugar. In some cases, insulin therapy is also required. Many people also face the added challenge of overweight or obesity, which can make treatment more complex and increase the risk of long-term complications. While current treatments can be effective, clinical research is essential to finding new options.

This study is investigating whether a combination of two investigational medicines can impact on:

  • Blood sugar control
  • Weight reduction
  • The risk of diabetes-related complications
  • Overall health outcomes for people with type 2 diabetes and obesity

  • A placebo OR
